"Traveling Through Time"

Join the Des Plaines History Center this summer as we travel through time! Over the course of six weeks, we will explore different eras of human history starting with Ancient Egypt. Learn about castles, mummies, and more in these fun programs for kids ages 5-12! These family programs will be in-person on Wednesdays, starting at 1:30pm each day.
June 14 - Ancient Egypt
June 21 - Ancient Rome
June 28 - The Viking Age
July 12 - The Middle Ages
July 19 - The Renaissance
July 26 - Colonial America
"Summer is my favorite time of the year - I love having the chance to explore and see new things! Our Summer Adventures programs are the perfect way to kick off your own summer fun and learn about history from all over the world without ever having to leave Des Plaines!" says Ms. Marston, Interpretive Curator at the Des Plaines History Center.
This program is free of charge due to the generosity of Village Bank & Trust and the Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines. Donations are appreciated. Summer Adventures is a seasonal children’s program series meant to invite public participation and interaction with a broad range of historical topics per the History Center’s mission.
