The 2023 Community Garage Sale will take place Friday, May 5; Saturday, May 6; and Sunday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to sunset, rain or shine. The cost to participate is FREE with registration. Residents may display their items neatly for sale on their front lawns or driveways on the appropriate weekend.

Residents can register for the sale and include a short description of the days they will be participating and what type of items they plan to sell.

Register at desplaines.org/garagesalereg by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 to be included in the interactive 2023 Community Garage Sale Google Map available on Wednesday, May 3.

The digital map will ensure bargain hunters can access all the information they seek in one place to navigate your sale easily.

Check back on Wednesday, May 3, to view the interactive map and navigation instructions.

Unable to participate in the 2023 Community Garage Sale? Remember that City Council eliminated the permit and fee to host your own occasional sale. For more information, please visit the Garage Sale page.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
