Colleen Moore was an American film actress who began her career during the silent film era. Moore always loved dolls and dollhouses; and encouraged by her father, she built herself a dream house. She worked with many of her industry colleagues to craft this miniature fairy castle. During the Great Depression, Moore toured the country with her fantasy dollhouse to raise funds for children’s charities. After touring, the fairy castle was welcomed into its new home at The Museum of Science and Industry where it has enchanted children of all ages since 1949.
