Come join Des Plaines Public Library for a fun night of sharing all sorts of creative written work. This is an open mic event for adults to read and share their creative writing pieces with other readers and writers. Those reading will have 7 minutes to read their work to the audience. Poetry, works of fiction, memoirs, or works-in-progress at all levels are welcome! Even if you don't have something to share, you're welcome to come by, listen, and enjoy the ambience and company of other creatives.
The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
