The special ingredient is evaporated milk. Beginning Wednesday, September 8, please visit the 4th floor information desk to pick up this Take and Make ingredient, borrow a coordinating cookbook and register for the program. Make a recipe, take some photos, and share the experience with others on Zoom. Registration is required but successful cooking or baking is not. Zoom link will be sent to you close to October 7.
Note this collection of recipes from the Carnation company. They know how to sell evaporated milk!
Please register via the 4th floor information desk either in person or by calling (847) 376-2841. Supplies are limited.
We have distributed all of our cans of evaporated milk as of 9/14/21. You may still register to join us for the discussion and shared experience over Zoom.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
