Meeting Room AJoin Celia as she shares her most recent book, Strange Birds: A Field Guide to Ruffling Feathers which was named by Publisher's Weekly as one of the most anticipated Children's and YA books of Fall 2019. Books will be available for purchase to be signed by the author. Three copies of Pérez's book will be raffled off at the event.
Recommended for Grade 4 - Adults.

Celia is the author of The First Rule of Punk, a 2018 Pura Belpré Author Honor Book, a 2018 Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children's Book Award Winner, and part of the 2020 Master List of the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers’ Book Award / Illinois Children’s Choice Award! She lives in Chicago with her family where, in addition to writing books about lovable weirdos and outsiders, she works as a librarian. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities.
