For toddlers 18 - 36 months, with a parent/caregiver. Storytimes help build a lifelong love of books and reading. These interactive programs for young children feature books, rhymes, movement, music, and more! Playtime starts at 10 a.m. Thursday program is a repeat of Tuesday.
Space is limited. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Parent/caregiver and child pick up a free admission ticket at the Youth Services Desk beginning 30 minutes prior to storytime. Participants need a DPPL card or ID with Des Plaines address in addition to ticket. Remaining tickets, if any, will be distributed to all patrons, first-come, first-served, 5 minutes prior to program start. For information call 847-376-2839.
The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
