The Youth Services Department in collaboration with the Des Plaines Art Guild is offering a tween edition of the Ken Project.
The Ken Project began with a donation from Ken, a long-time Des Plaines resident with an artistic eye who loved to find images and curate them. We will use these images along with discarded CD cases to make art. This program has recently been offered for adults, but this edition is for kids ages 9-12.
It is a drop-of program and will be held in the Canvas.
The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
