Come to the library to celebrate all things COMIC!

Beginning at 12:30, we will have free comic books and other giveaways available in the first-floor hallway.  In Meeting Room A, there will be snacks and a green screen for photo ops. 

At 1:15 we’ll have a cosplay runway where you can show off your best costume and maybe win a prize!  We will also announce the Comic Craze Raffle and Comic Craze Contest winners.

At 2:00 kids and families can head up to the Youth Services Program Room for a special event.  Join bestselling youth authors (and friends!) Dan Santat and Minh Lê via Zoom as they discuss all things books and art.

Teens and adults can stay in Meeting Room A to attend a reading by local author Mary Schyne of her upcoming graphic novel You and Me On Repeat.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
