Free Comic Book Day is May 3rd, and we have some exciting things going on at the library.

First, we want to see your art! 

Enter our Comic Craze Raffle between April 1 and May 1, by submitting some of your own panels. 

Kids up to age 12 can pick up blank panels at the second-floor desk. When you are finished, bring your art back to the YS Desk.  Each submission will receive one raffle ticket and be displayed on the second floor.

Raffle winners will be announced at our Free Comic Book Day Event on May 3rd at 1:30 pm.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
