Join us for a fantastic, family-friendly event at the Izaak Walton League to learn how you can play a vital role in protecting our waterways. Through the League’s Save Our Streams program, volunteers just like you have been making a difference since 1969. Back then, people saw big problems like oil spills and rivers on fire. But even small actions, like cleaning up trash from local streams, made a big difference. Today, with the right training, anyone can become a superhero for our streams!

In this outing you will become a Salt Watcher with our easy-to-use test kits, for you to “dip and discover” and find out whether the Des Plaines River has become polluted by excessive use of road salt. Free kits will be provided.  One per family.

Dress appropriately for an hour outdoors and a walk through the woods.
