As we head into the cold months, birds need a high protein diet.

Suet offers the perfect supplement, plus it's the favorite of Woodpeckers, Flickers, Chickadees and Nuthatch. Because pinecones have a high fat content they make a perfectly healthy base for the feeder. We will be using peanut butter as the glue to hold the seeds in place. Simply hang the feeder from its string on either a tree or branch hook and watch the birds nibble. Presented by Alyse Berman from the Wildbird Shack. Registration begins 9/1/24

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
