For many families, the college planning process and high cost of higher education is a daunting proposition.  Parents lie awake at night trying to figure out how to afford sending one, two, three or more children to college and still have enough of their hard-earned money to be able to retire.   We can help!

This presentation will cover:

Developing a plan for the high school years
         Current college cost landscape
         The college funding/retirement savings dilemma
         Covering the financial aid basics
Expert tips for reducing college costs
         Costly mistakes to avoid
The college admission and financial aid minefield
The presentation will be given by Peter Herman.  Peter has been assisting families with their college planning needs and is the founding member of Collegian Group, LLC.  As a Certified College Funding Specialist (CCFS) as well as a member of The National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), Peter is uniquely qualified to guide our students through the college planning maze.

About

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
